A&M Relocations

On 11/7/18 I was contacted by Nick Bauer, Relocation Specialist with A & M Relocation regarding my daughters upcoming move. He stated that he could give me a better price than U Pack so I asked him what he could do. He provided me with the attached estimate. I agreed to it and everything was set up for A & M Relocation to be at my daughters’ apartment on 12/1/2018 sometime between 9am and noon. On 12/1/2018 I was contacted by Dion Young at A & M Relocation dispatch to set up a time on 12/2/18 to do the move. I told him this was not acceptable at all since my daughter had to be out of her apartment on 12/1/18 because she had all her utilities disconnected and needed to get on the road to drive to North Carolina that day. Dion offered to get his movers from his own moving company, Fresh Start, to get her moved out and take her property to A & M Relocation and loaded on their truck. He charged me $1250.00 to do this and we had no other alternative so I paid him and he got this taken care of for me.
I was then contacted by phone on 12/3/18 by Todd James from A & M Relocation saying that my daughters property was loaded on the truck and I needed to wire transfer him $1800.00 so they could deliver it and would owe them $1848.00 upon delivery. I told him I didn’t have that kind of money and was completely shocked because my original agreement was $456.26 down and the balance of $456.26 upon delivery. I was also told by Mr. James that Nick Bauer, my relocation specialist, wasn’t available because he had some ‘family drama’ and had to go to Canada. I told Mr. James I didn’t know what to do and he asked if I had a credit card I could pay with and I told him no. He then offered to store my daughters’ property for 30 days free of charge to give me time to come up with the money. We have no way to come up with that kind of money and don’t want her stuff to be auctioned off. He also emailed me a copy of the agreement that he had which is dated 12/3/18 with the same job number, which is obviously not the original agreement. I received an email on 12/6/18 from Josh from A & M Relocation with instructions on how to do the wire transfer. I also received an email from Todd James stating the ‘terms’ to get my daughters property from being held hostage.
As of this date 12/7/18 A & M Relocation hasn’t done anything regarding this move except store the property in question.
I have copies of all of my conversations, my original agreement, their inflated agreement, receipts for payments to Dion Young, and other paperwork regarding this move. I have also filed a report with NCCDB.
*UPDATE* Dion from Fresh Start Moving delivered my daughters property to her. We had to pay him another $1000 to do it but at least we got her property. Todd James from A & M Relocation called me after he got the report from NCCDB and said that they would abide by the original agreement and deliver her property for the original amount of $456.26. I had zero trust in him considering he didn’t even know that Dion had the property and was delivering it to us that day! I would definitely BEWARE of this company and NOT use them for your move!

Our moving team was extremely professional, polite, and helpful! This was our first time hiring movers and it was worth every single penny. The guys worked nonstop, from the moment they arrived at the moment they left with smiles on their faces.

They took great care with all of our things, wrapping and padding all of our furniture before loading it on the truck, and they helped us dissemble and reassemble, and even rearranged furniture after everything was unloaded. Even my (fragile!) handcrafted family heirloom easel made the move without a single scratch or crack.

We did a lot of research before picking our movers, and we definitely chose well. Thanks, A&M Relocations!

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $2500

I am extremely unhappy by the service provided. Below is a summary of issues -

1. Nobody contacted a day before the move. Someone called 1 hour before arrival to let us know that we should be ready to move.
2. I was quoted $2280 after the inventory was done. The movers packed and loaded everything and at 9 PM they told me that I will have to pay $4876 if I want our stuff moved. If not, they would unload and leave the stuff as it is. I had no choice but to agree. They gave me a $300 discount after charging more than double!
3. I was quoted and promised a 3-day delivery. The movers picked up the stuff on Dec 07th and nobody cared to call about the delivery date. I called multiple times and finally, someone picked up and told me that the stuff will be delivered on the 15th. A 1-2 day delay is acceptable but 8 days is beyond imaginable.
4. Nick Bauer was great to talk with until I signed the contract and completely disappeared after it.
5. I got a called on Dec 14th that I need to keep the cash ready for payment before delivery if I want my stuff. What is this language?
6. I ordered a full service (pack, load, move, unload and unpack). Almost all boxes were intentionally packed half full. I noticed it while unpacking.

Your website doesn't let me send you all this information through the contact us page. Your customer service email address is invalid. Nobody picks up the phone. So I have no way to contact you.

Please provide a refund for the amount I was charged extra ($2,295) so that both of us don't have to go through the process of resolving the issue through AMSA or BBB or FMCSA.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4876

These guys are awesome! Professional, kind, and fair! Hard to find that combination in any service company today.

We reached out late one afternoon after discovering another company had failed to show up and a few hours later we were back on schedule. They came bright and early the next day. We had a few very heavy items: gun safe and 3 piece slate pool table that needed to go upstairs and they had no problems with either.

I highly recommend!!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1200

I contacted A&M Relocations and they returned my call to arrange to price, scheduling etc. - and were extremely flexible/able to meet my needs.

They arrived on time to my house and had no problems loading everything and taking directions. Seemed extremely nice.

Everything was delivered seamlessly we had no issues, which I thought was surprising as I always dreaded dealing with moving companies in the past. I don't plan on moving again for a long time! But If I had to - these are the guys I would call.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $2600

I used A & M Relocations to move my household 2X (don't ask, long story) this past summer.  Ilyas and his crew really did a fantastic job on both occasions.  Not a thing was broken and Ilyas stuck to his original estimate of moving costs, unlike other companies that quote you one price and then add on all sorts of extra charges on the back end for things like packing material, cartons, extra hours etc.  I received quotes from several other companies and A & M was one of the cheapest ones.  They were professional thru and thru.  I highly recommend them.

Service cost: $1000

I hired this company based on what now appears to be false reviews.
I was given an estimate of $2800 and paid it in full prior to pick up. After my goods were loaded on the truck and it was gone, I got a call from their office that I owed an additional $5000, for a one bedroom move! They had all of my goods and were gone so I had no choice but to pay more.
Trying to arrange delivery has been a nightmare too. I don't know if I will ever receive my goods. They also go by the name of United Speed Movers.
I am astounded that these criminals are allowed to stay in business.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $6100

I chose A&M Relocations based on the ridiculous number of 5 star reviews. After moving with them, I can say that they did a moderately worse job than our last mover in IL who didn't have the near-unanimous 5 stars that A&M Relocations has (make of that what you will).

The main positives were: after they scratched our new hardwood floors and broke an expensive glass tabletop, the owner of the company was very friendly and agreed to pay for a new glass tabletop and reduce our charges a bit to cover the scratches.

The main negatives: they broke our glass tabletop and scratched our floors in a couple of places and they took longer than expected or seemed reasonable.
